Narratology is the stufy of narrative and the fuction of purpose of narrative. Todorov's theory of narratology is that there is a specific structure which most films, books and mostly anything with a storyline will use, especially in TV Dramas. Todorov's theory has 5 steps, equilibrium, disruption, recognition of disruption, attempt to fix disruption, and finally the new equilibrium. His theory goes especially well with TV Dramas, as they include use multiple narrative conventions in it. This theory is very useful, however it has it's restrictions in a TV Drama as they usually want the audience to be lead on and thinking about multiple disruptions.
Torodov's theory works in the TV Drama 'Homeland'. The equilibrium here is that there is a CIA Agent by the name of Carrie Mathison doing her job in Baghdad.
A good start demonstrating a basic grasp of the theory. Target:

2) Complete P1.
